4year Old Omonigho Abraham, Who Was Attacked By Two Dogs Health Worsen

Omonigho Abrahim's health, who was attacked by 2 German shepherd dog about a month ago in the Igando area of Lagos, has reportedly worsened in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Ikeja where he is currently receiving treatment.

 

 According to Punch who contacted the father said that his son's scalp which was torn off by dogs had not healed and now has bad smells emitting from it, and this had given the family serious concern. Attempts to get the medical report of his condition had also been frustrated by some medical officers in the hospital.

He said....

 “My boy still complains of pains in different parts of his body. Also, when they open the bandage on his head, you will see that there is no much difference. It’s still like the first time the incident happened.In fact, for up to two weeks no consultant or doctor attended to him, and his head started smelling.In fact, for up to two weeks no consultant or doctor attended to him, and his head started smelling.We have been told he may still have to be admitted for six months or up to one year, for the doctors to do a skin-grafting surgery on his open skull. Our correspondent gathered that a non-governmental organisation had to raise money for Omonigho’s drugs and over N100, 000 had been purportedly spent in buying drugs, among other expenses.The report of a fundraising for Omonigho’s medical expenses was said to have angered the management of LASUTH who allegedly accused Odia of making money off his son’s predicament.

The father of three told our correspondent he was called into a meeting on Tuesday in which the management of the hospital promised to start implementing the state government’s pledge to the Abrahams.

After the death of Zambia president Michael Sata who died on Tuesday after while undergoing treatment in a London hospital for an undisclosed illness, his vice Guy Scott has been named the interim president. 

Guy Scott, 70 years of age, is white who is of Scottish descent but born in Zambia. This makes him the first ever white president in Africa since apartheid. He become vice-president of Zambia in 2011 and will serve as interim-president pending when the country holds fresh elections for a new president within 90 days. 

The Zambian constitution makes it impossible for Scott to be president because his parents were not born in Zambia.

Rumours of him being seriously ill persisted during his final months in office. Frequent denials by the government — and legal action against activists claiming he was dying — did nothing to dispel them.
Sata had not been seen in public since returning from the UN General Assembly last month, where he failed to make a scheduled speech.
The announcement by cabinet secretary Roland Msiska on Wednesday that Sata had died created little surprise.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing on of our beloved president,” Msiska said in an address to the nation.
Speculation was turning to who might become Zambia’s next president.
Even before Sata’s death, analysts had said a power struggle for Zambia’s top job was already well under way within the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) party.
When Sata flew to London just over a week ago for treatment he appointed his defence minister as acting president.
But Lungu, who also holds the justice portfolio, is seen as just one of several potential candidates within the faction-ridden party.
And outside the PF, former president Rupiah Banda, who is facing graft charges, has hinted at a possible return to active politics.
“I am legally eligible to stand,” he told AFP early this month, citing calls from his supporters to return to the political fray.

African leaders meanwhile paid tribute to Sata.
Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta hailed him as an “outstanding son of Africa”.
“He was gifted with unique, admirable abilities and strong values,” Kenyatta said in a statement.
South Africa’s ruling ANC said: “Zambia has lost not only a president who prioritised the poor, but also led the Zambian government at a time when the continent is working to reclaim its place in the global governance and economy.”
Sata rode to power on the back of resentment against the Chinese resource firms that dot Zambia, describing them as “infesters”.
His government had recently cracked down on political opponents and critical journalists who reported on his long-suspected illness and frequent “working trips” abroad, apparently for medical treatment.

 She was like a daughter to me before she became my wife. I was watching over her before I finally proposed to her. We were friends and I used to advise her about men then too. "Robbers now parade themselves as our members" - Boko Haram Sec.General confirms ceasefire

Despite the recent attack by suspected Boko Haram members in Adamawa,Self acclaimed secretary General of Boko Haram, Mallam Danladi Ahmadu have said that the group’s cases fire agreement with the Federal Government is very much on course.

Ahmadu spoke in the Hausa Service of  Voice Of America VOA and disclosed that the final meeting between the group and the Federal Government to finally seal the ceasefire agreement has been scheduled for Monday in Ndjamana, Chad and to be supervised by the Chadian leader, Idris Derby.

For The Fear Of Ebola, Nigerian Drug Smuggler Left To Die At Spanish Airport

A Nigerian drug smuggler has died in a Spanish airport after several bags of  cocaine burst in his stomach.

The unidentified man collapsed in the customs area of the Madrid-Barajas airport and upon hearing that the man was from Nigeria, staff were too afraid to approach the man and left him in shivers on the airport floor. 

 Spain's El Mundo newspaper reports that the man, who had landed on a flight from Istanbul on October 18, died 90 minutes later from a massive drugs overdose,

Man Of God Arrested For Snatching Cars At Gunpoint

A district pastor of a church in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, has been remanded by a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja.The 37-year-old pastor, Adebambo Adetunji, was alleged to be one of the gang members, who robbed motorists at the Ojota Bus stop, between April and July, 2014.

 Punch learnt that Adetunji and other suspects, who were still on the run, were notorious for snatching cars and robbing victims of their valuables at gun point.
